The Children's Discovery Museum is a different kind of museum -- where touching the exhibits is actually encouraged. The exhibits are designed for kids of any age to touch, climb on, climb into, and even take apart and put back together. It's a liberty kids are seldom afforded in a museum -- or anywhere else!

The mission of the Children's Discovery Museum is to inspire the love of learning through the power of play.
Our mission is accomplished by providing hands-on exhibits, classes, and programs that actively engage the visitor in experiences that stimulate imagination, curiosity, and wonder.

Opportunities for children and adults to participate in a variety of learning experiences together, which deepens the parent-child bond far beyond the Museum walls.
Exploratory and interactive play that encourages learning through object manipulation, imaginative role-playing, and sensory stimulation.
Engaging activities that build a positive disposition toward learning and a heightened sense of an ability to learn.
The Museum building itself was built with the health of its visitors and employees in mind. The Children's Discovery Museum was the first children’s museum in the country to achieve LEED Certification.  to learn more.
 
Museum Programs
 
Baby Time - Parents will learn new ways to interact with their baby, listen & dance to music and meet new friends in this class designed for the Museum’s youngest visitors.
Toddler Time - This program is designed to help children ages 18 to 36 months build important developmental skills through group and individual play.
Early Explorers - Be a big kid and join us as we investigate, discover, explore and imagine our way to fun in these exciting drop-off programs for kids ages 4-5 years old.
Discovery Bunch - Children ages 3-5 and their adult partners enjoy story and discussion time, related activities and snacks.
Home School Programs - The Museum's educational programs are offered to home school families and provide an opportunity for children to interact with educators and other home schooled students in our Museum classroom setting.
Discovery Day Camps - When school is out, the Museum is in!
Scout Programs - Calling all Scout Leaders! The Children's Discovery Museum can provide badge workshops for local scouts.
Zoot Dance Party - Parent's night out, kid's night in, as the kids learn basic dance steps such as the jazz square, grape vine, and step ball change to the music of Broadway Musicals.
Discovery Art Program - Discovery Art classes will introduce children to the world of art by exploring color, lines, shapes and textures.
Free Floor Programming - You never know what might be going on at the CDM! Join us for exciting physics demonstrations and special activities in our 3rd floor art studio.
