rushcoplyThe growth and development of the community comes as no surprise to those who live and work in the Fox Valley. Rush-Copley Medical Center is at the heart of this expansion and has significant plans to lead the way for state-of-the-art healthcare in Illinois’ second largest city and its adjacent communities.
The progression Rush-Copley is undertaking is a deliberate and thoughtful one. Beginning by attracting some of the industry’s best and brightest medical professionals, coupled with investing in the latest medical technology and advancements, and culminating in a well-planned expansion of the medical center’s campus on Ogden Avenue—Rush-Copley’s commitment to the community is unparalleled.

A Commitment of Care
Rush-Copley is committed to caring for the entire community. In order to serve those who may not have health insurance or other means to pay for their care, Rush-Copley offers a comprehensive program of financial assistance. Reflecting our promise of advanced medicine and extraordinary care, this program provides generous financial assistance for those who meet certain eligibility requirements.

Financial Assistance Guidelines

Rush-Copley is pleased to provide financial assistance for those individuals who meet the requirements and are without health insurance or are underinsured. Rush-Copley patient representatives will work closely with patients who receive needed medical services to ensure that billed charges are fair, and will bill only for healthcare services that are actually performed, medically necessary and are properly documented in the patient's medical record. Rush-Copley makes every effort to determine the fair market value of patient services.
Those who meet the criteria and are financially unable to establish the minimum payment required for services provided at Rush-Copley are strongly encouraged to work directly with one of the hospital's patient representatives to review payment options and determine eligibility of hospital-based assistance.
Eligibility for charity care, or care that is provided without the expectation of payment is for those whose family income is at or below the 300% of the federal poverty income guideline set forth by the Department of Health and Human Services. All sources of payment will need to be identified before financial assistance can begin. Rush-Copley's patient representatives can also provide enrollment assistance for state funded public aid programs.
Financial Assistance Eligibility

For individuals whose family income is at or below 300% of the federal poverty level, Rush-Copley will provide care without expectation of payment to those who have completed an application for charity care and who meet the eligibility requirements.
For reference, the chart below shows the eligibility criteria for charity care based on family size and income at 300% of the federal poverty level as determined by the Department of Health and Human Services.
